The Real Scoop On Estrogen Dominance & What It Means For You

Estrogen has gotten a bad rap. Estrogen dominance lead you believe that your body is over

producing estrogen, which simply isn’t always true.

As you slide into your mid-30’s to late-40’s your child bearing years start to slow. This is due to progesterone (the pregnancy hormone) starting to fall. This throws off the healthy balance between estrogen and progesterone.

The estrogen/progesterone ration is critical to feeling good in your body. So too little progesterone can be at the root of estrogen dominance.

What symptoms should you be looking for with estrogen dominance?

Maybe the question should be, what symptoms won’t you have….

To add insult to injury, progesterone is an anti-inflammatory hormone and is protective in the body. As it begins to nose dive and the body becomes estrogen dominant + any excess estrogen’s circulating in the body…the result can clearly be all the physical symptoms you may already be feeling.

Even if you have low estrogen, if you don’t have sufficient progesterone you can still experience estrogen dominance.

Besides the imbalance in progesterone and estrogen you may be wondering what other factors cause estrogen dominance.

Xenoestrogens

found in fruits and vegetables sprayed with pesticides, plastic water bottles and Tupperware, nail polish, makeup, birth control, and certain

Inability To Manage Stress

Emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual are all forms of stress for the body. Any one of these can cause a dysregulated nervous system which can create hormonal imbalances.

Adrenal Fatigue

These are a collection of signs and symptoms that results with the adrenal glands function below the needed level. Prolonged stress is usually the root to this problem.

Constipation

Pooping is one of the best ways to detox excess estrogens in the body. If you aren’t pooping you are creating hormonal imbalances.

A Compromised Liver

If your liver is overburdened by toxins or high cholesterol you are preventing this critical organ to detox excess estrogens.

Let’s shift gears to some support for this condition.

Here are 4 ways you can naturally support estrogen dominance:

#1 is green tea. And there’s a lot of good research about green tea and cancer

prevention, especially estrogen-positive cancer prevention.

#2 Fiber is key. Fiber binds to those estrogen metabolites and shuttle’s estrogen out through the colon! You can think of fiber as a chauffeur for estrogen through the digestive system and into the toilet!

#3 Eliminate bad fats in the diet. This will help reduce the burden on the liver so it can do its clean-up of excess estrogens

#4 Eat bitter greens. This will support the liver function as well!
